Woodworking

Two of our volunteers took the Peter Moorhouse course in order to run woodworking skills' sessions with the children after the Easter break. This has been such a hit and it is amazing to see the focus and concentration levels of some of the children who find this harder to do.

The course is aimed at early years but is just as applicable for elementary aged children. The idea is to teach the children how to use the various tools and then let them make their own creations. These have become increasingly more sophisticated and hopefully we can embark on some group projects in the autumn term. We need a new trellis for the garden!

Before the end of term, we invited the children to reflect on and to review their learning by sharing a piece of work and describing what they had done, what worked, what didn't.
